Burglary, Stolen Vehicle, Thefts: Lower Merion Crime Blotter

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Lower Merion Township released about a month's worth of crime incidents in the township.

Incidents occurred between Aug. 20 and July 25.

Aug. 20

Burglary (Bala Cynwyd) - Victim's residence was entered overnight. A screen next to the front door was cut, as the window was open. A purse and Macbook was taken from the first floor of the residence. Victim advised the family was upstairs sleep during the incident and that nothing unusual or suspicious was heard.

Aug. 16

Attempted Theft of Vehicle (Belmont Hills) - Victim's Ford work van was found with damage to the driver's side keyhole as well as the ignition. No loss from the vehicle.

Aug. 14

Theft from Vehicle (Bala Cynwyd) - Victim's Acura was entered overnight. No damage observed to the vehicle and loose change and a EZPASS was stolen.

Aug. 13

Theft from Vehicle (Bala Cynwyd) - Victim's Mercedes had a window broken out and the vehicle entered. Due to tint, the window stayed intact and the actor(s) pried the trim off the window and removed the glass to gain entry. Unknown loss at this time. Two actors are observed on security video fleeing the scene.

Theft from Vehicle (Bala Cynwyd) - Victim's Cadillac had a window broken out and the vehicle entered. Unknown loss at this time. Two actors are observed on security video fleeing the scene.

Theft from Vehicle (Bala Cynwyd) - Victim's Audi had a window broken out and the vehicle entered. Unknown loss at this time. Two actors are observed on security video fleeing the scene.

Aug. 12

Theft of Vehicle (Bala Cynwyd) - Victim's Hyundai was stolen from the roadway in front of her residence. Broken glass was located on the ground under where the passenger side of the vehicle would have been located.

Aug. 11

Theft from Vehicle (Belmont Hills) - Victim's Toyota was entered overnight while parked in their driveway. There does not appear to be any loss at this time. A actor was observed on security camera wearing a gray sweat suit.

Aug. 10

Theft from Vehicle (Ardmore) - Victim's Nissan had the a rear window broken out and a backpack was stolen from inside.

Theft from Vehicle (Ardmore) - Victim's Volkswagen had a rear window broken out. A bag containing sports equipment was stolen from inside.

Theft of Vehicle (Belmont Hills) - Victim's Ford van was stolen from the driveway of his residence.

Theft of Vehicle (Bala Cynwyd) - Victim's motorcycle was stolen from the parking lot of his apartment complex.

Aug. 8

Theft of Bicycle (Wynnewood) - Victim had two bicycles and children's scooters taken from the shed of on his property.

Aug. 6

Theft from Vehicle (Bryn Mawr) - Victim's license was removed and replaced with another license plate that was previously stolen. Unknown time frame or location of loss.

Aug. 3

Theft, Purse (Ardmore) - Victim had her wallet removed from her purse while shopping at a local store. No description of the actor(s) available at this time.

Theft (Bala Cynwyd) - Victim reported that after fueling her vehicle a male offered to replace the gas pump for her. When she returned home she found that the charge for fuel more than that which would fill her car. Male actor failed to reset the gas pump and fueled multiple cars following the victim leaving. Suspect developed and investigation continuing.

Theft from Vehicle (Ardmore) - Victim's unlocked Mercedes was entered in the parking lot of Suburban Square. A MacBook was removed from the backseat.

Aug. 2

Theft From Vehicle (Bala Cynwyd) - Three actors were seen entering multiple unlocked vehicles on the lot of a car dealership. Actors fled the scene on foot and one was later taken into custody. A stolen vehicle was also recovered in the area.

Theft, Purse (Ardmore) - Victim had her wallet removed from her purse while shopping at a local farmer's market. No description of the actor(s) available.

July 31

Vehicle Theft (Ardmore) - Victim's recently purchased Honda was stolen from the driveway at his residence. Victim reported that he purchased the vehicle used 2 days prior and received notifications that he was being tracked by an air tag prior to the vehicle being stolen.

July 28

Attempted Vehicle Theft (Ardmore) - Victim's Kia had the rear passenger window broken out and the wires from the steering column tampered with. Vehicle was ransacked but no apparent loss at this time.

Burglary (Bryn Mawr) - Vacant office building had multiple doors damaged with apparent attempts at entry. The security system was also tampered with. It does not appear as if the actor(s) gained entry to the building.

July 27

Theft from Motor Vehicle (Merion) - Victim's license plate was stolen off of their BMW, which had been parked in front of the residence.

July 25

Burglary (Bala Cynwyd) - Known party broke into victim's apartment and assaulted the victim following a disagreement.
